What are the foundations of life upon which the righteous may build with confidence? In this sermon are five basic premises of the Christian faith, each one dependent upon the previous one. Satan attacks these five foundations, but they cannot be destroyed!
To this difficult question, there is no answer. And yet, God gives an answer to His children: Trust God. His reasons, thoughts and intents are infinitely beyond human capacity to understand. Will we accept the fact that God owes us no explanation for what He allows?
Only the Gospel of Jesus has the answers to the world's problems. Politics is a sideshow that Satan is directing to distract our attention elsewhere. Ignore the distraction and join the real program: Christ's work on earth through the community of genuine believers.
I asked because...well, you seem reluctant to talk about Jesus at work. If I ask you a question about your religion, you act embarrassed. Sometimes you get mad. You seem to enjoy off-color jokes. So, I am wondering: are you saved?
Just exactly what are imaginations and what does the Bible say about them? Our thought life must be pure if we wish to see God. How do we harness our imaginations for God's glory?
Impaired or enlarged—which will we choose? Without question God will allow us to suffer in our earth journey. One option leads to a narrowed view and ability to serve others. The choice to see God involved in our lives helps us reach out, beyond our suffering, to others. Which will we choose?
Jesus chose to use a child to teach His disciples. What do we learn when a child is our teacher? We observe them and learn humility, obedience, teachableness, faith, generosity in giving, forgiveness, dependence, innocence, transparency and adoration. Let us become as little children!
"Is any sick among you?" We cry out against the physical, emotional, and spiritual infirmities we face in our fallen humanity and long for the state of perfection as when God first created man. However... what do we do when there is illness?
Chastisement is to bring change—change that is needed. Do you know when chastisement happens? Does it come with varying intensity/levels? Does the Bible offer any hope that we might outgrow our need for chastisement? Listen, and be encouraged to accept the loving chastening of the Lord.
